"The sequel to the highest-rated HHN maze."

Straight out of Midsummer Scream, we have a ton of new information on our three big slasher mazes coming to the event this year. We're going to split all the information up into separate articles to keep things from getting cluttered, so here we go. In this article we're going to focus on Halloween: Hell Comes To Haddonfield. Starting things off Murdy first gave us an inside look into the franchises history with Hollywood's event for the past 16 years. Halloween for those who may not know was first introduced in 2009 in the old Wild West Venue at the heart of the park. Halloween: The Life and Crimes of Michael Myers primarily focused on the original 1978 film directed by John Carpenter.

Murdy made it clear the original maze tried to capture the spirit of the original film, which he notes was a very slow-burn approach. "They just don't make movies like Halloween anymore" he mentioned, while also saying that while the maze captured the creepiness of the original film really well, he felt it was not as scary as it could have been. He also felt fans recollections of that attraction were a bit overhyped. He then talked about last year's maze incarnation of the film, Halloween: Michael Myers Comes Home.

This incarnation strived to achieve two things: capture the spirit of the original film... and be scary as hell. This maze would also differ than the 2009 version in the fact that it was more of an original take than a direct recreation of the film. Murdy and Williams focused more on the paranormal aspect of Michael Myers, noting they went for a "haunted house" atmosphere.

Now we move onto the new maze for 2016, Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield which is completely based on the sequel, Halloween 2. Murdy gave the audience some insight on what we will come to expect for this year's experience. First off, the façade will be the Doyle residence (as I'm sure some eagle eyed fans already knew) and will take place at the very end of the first film.

What does that mean exactly? Well as guests wait in line to enter the attraction, you will hear Loomis shooting Michael Myers in the second floor of the house. mirroring the final events of the first film, pretty cool eh? The maze will also include iconic scenes from the film such as the alleyway and the scene involving Loomis telling Sheriff Brackett "He's not human!."

The bulk of the experience will be inside the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital and will feature all the iconic kills from the film. In another tidbit, the "Festival of Samhain" will be prominent throughout the maze. Decorations will be found throughout just like in the film. Finally Murdy teased another original take on the finale only mentioning "You can't kill the Boogeyman." Knowing how the film ends and the incredible faux fire effect in TWD: Attraction, we can't help but wonder if it will find a way into this maze. Nonetheless, it all sounds pretty spooky. We'll be back tomorrow with a look at Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Blood Brothers and Freddy vs Jason.
